No, in this article you are not going to read about baseball caps and teenagers. Especially not about baseball caps worn backwards or in any sort of weird angle. This is an article for grownups with a sense of style. A hat can really give your wardrobe this extra touch that it needs to become from “fine” really classy and elegant.

Hats did go out of fashion about half a century ago, but as all fashion trends, they are doing a comeback. And for good reason! Think of all those classic Humphrey Bogart movies. He undoubtedly was quite a cool cat, right? Even if you are a more adventurous guy, think of Indiana Jones. What I am trying to say is: fedoras. Fedoras along with pork pie hats are the way to go, if you are brave enough to try this unique accessory. This is not an experiment for everyone. In order to wear a hat -and not let the hat wear you- you need to follow some rules.

First of all, don’t be cheap. Buy a hat made of a good quality material. Wool hats with darker shades are great choices for winter while lighter colored hats made of straw, cotton or linen are great for summer. Based on the shape of your fits, one of the two will suit you better. The same goes if you select a porkpie. If you have a longer face, then a hat with a lower crown -the bowl-shaped part of the hat- will flatter you more. If you have a short forehead and a rounded face, go for a higher crown that will make your face look more oval. And please make sure that your hat fits you! There are few things less unflattering than an ill-fitting fedora. And remember that a fedora is not a beanie, so do not try to stick your whole head in it.

It is important to match your hat with your outfit. If you have bought this great dark gray wool fedora and you are wearing with a t-shirt and jeans and you are not Johnny Depp, I am afraid no one will be impressed. On the contrary, the hat will look just plain silly and out of place. A classy hat goes with a classy suit. Keep that in mind and fashion police will stay out of your way. If you want to wear a hat with a casual outfit you can wear a jockey hat, which is a bit more sophisticated than your usual baseball cap, or go for a flat cap instead.

And since all cool cats have good manners, do not forget to follow the hat etiquette when wearing one. This means that you should take your hat off when you are inside (you doff your hat, in hat terminology). You also take it off when you talk to a lady, whether inside or out. You tip it up slightly to greet friends or acquaintances and you take it off to greet someone of great importance. Also, you always take it off when listening to the national anthem. To put your hat on (or, to don your hat) make sure that you are not exposing its inside to public. You have to always have the crown facing outwards, in order to keep any sweat, dirt or dandruff hidden. And you just put it on top of your head. Really simple. It goes without saying that your hat should be clean so if you love the look, buy a second one, in order to be always fresh and be able to combine your hat with your clothes.

Mens underwear has changed radically over the past few decades. What started as simple covering for your loins has changed into a separate fashion sector. Here is a look at many of the changes that mens underwear has undergone in the last 100 years.

The purpose of underwear was to cover your crown jewels and maintain good hygiene. Overtime, it became proper etiquette. From the 1920’s, underwear, especially men’s underwear started undergoing many transformations. Pre-shrunk fabrics were one of the biggest changes in the early 90s. It meant that you never had to buy underwear in larger sizes.

The most notable change in mens underwear has to be the changes in the fabrics used to actually make underwear. Originally, underwear was manufactured with either wool or silk, the latter was used for purposes that are more erotic in nature.

It was easy to work, readily and cheaply available and it breathes well. However, in this day and age, new combinations of fabrics are being used to manufacture mens underwear. These fabrics make underwear more durable, comfortable, breathable, stretchy, waterproof, fast drying and see-through, or a combination of any of these features. Furthermore, many new fabric blends make high quality underwear affordable.

One of the greatest changes to fabrics was the introduction of fast drying fabrics. If you were wearing waterproof underwear, you could easily jump into a pool, come out and your underwear would not wedge, bulge or seem stuck on your body. He quick dry fabrics would ensure that the water drained out of the underwear fast, leaving you feeling great.

One of the greatest breakthroughs in mens underwear has to undoubtedly be all-purpose underwear. Although a little expensive, this type of underwear is super absorbent, stretchy, breathable, form fitting and very comfortable. To top it all off, they look great. You will never have a problem wearing it in your home, on the street, at the beach or the gym.

During the late 1930s, mens underwear changed significantly. Jockey briefs were released. This was a very sexy and skimpy variant of the classic underwear. Within 3 months, over 30, 000 pairs were sold; significant for skimpy underwear. That trend has continued over the past 80 years and has continuously evolved.

Now, sexy mens underwear takes on a completely different and new meaning. Many popular brands emphasize on the sexy side of mens underwear. This type of underwear has no covering over the buttocks, different cup variations, various pockets, form-fitting features, revealing qualities and various enhancement and lifting features.

Mens underwear just isn’t what it used to be. It is no longer the simple piece of cloth used to cover your crown jewels. Mens underwear is now like the clothes you wear, it has more than one purpose. It changes significantly every ten years or so, even faster when new developments arise. Mens underwear is now just as sexy and functional as womens underwear, perhaps more.

Danica Patrick is the best thing to hit NASCAR, a sport high on testosterone and octane this young driver is all about what racing needs. Danica brings new fans to the track, not only the ladies how are inspired by Danica but new fans, young men, and some of us older mens who love the sport but don’t mind a little eye candy too. Fox reported that rating for this year’s race was up 30% over last year largely attributable to Danica Patrick.

I have to say as I was watched the Daytona 500 this year that I was a little disturbed maybe more disappointed by Daytona 500 Grand Marshal James Franco’s command of “Drivers and Danica, start your engines.” But then again who is James’s Franco, I always thought that Grand Marshals were important people I guess this year they were trying to save money. Danica Patrick demonstrated Sunday; she is a driver and a dam fine one.

Well anyways as I spent the afternoon watching the race in my favorite pair of Manview Elements Fire Lounge Pants, sound like an advertisement but for real, I was really rooting for the Hendrick Motorsports because I am truly a Chevy Fan but I was also rooting for Danica not only because she is a woman in a male dominated sport but mostly because I believe Danica will emerged as a great driver in the near future, I don’t think that the sport is about men against woman I believe it is about talent, hard work and physical and mental conditioning. I believe Danica has earned her way to the top and I hope that she does well.

As I watched the race I could not help but think that the records that were being set by Danica will be nothing more than little stepping stone when she looks back over the course of the year. Danica held her own in the top ten throughout the full race and was able to maintain a third position up to the final lap but got caught up in the Hendricks Hurricane of Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. a tough break for Danica but a great lesson . You go girl , you are an inspiration to all of us.

Paris Fashion Week 2013 Men's Fashion

Fashion Week has just wrapped up in fashion…all styles were thrown into the pot to make for a charismatic upcoming fall&winter season.

Valentino had its first menswear show in Paris, travelling from Saville Row to punk rock. Great printed shirts and sweaters with photographs printed on them, stitched jackets reminded us of Frankenstein, jackets with luxurious leather breast plates that took us back to ancient Rome and Givenchy’s rich ancestry.

Dior designer Kris Van Assche brought us fitted futuristic style suits; there was no bulking up with these suits. Zippered jackets silver clip belt buckles woven into these futuristic suits, fitted shirt sleeves, with a recurring red pin stripe. Has the businessman evolved into a superhero?

Hermes equals unpretentious luxury. According to head designer Veronique Nichanian, the 2013 theme at Hermes is “chic le sport”. Hermes presented with muted colours in charcoal, teals and grey in this classy masculine showing. There were 44 looks presented at the show which were completely on –trend. Amazing fitted suits, military style jackets and silk pullovers which invoked punches of colour into the collection. Tracksuit trousers and brightly laced ski-style boots mixed effortlessly with more tailored pieces. There was a breath taking tuxedo in black wool and mohair, amazing and fit for a king. This show was truly one of the highlights of fashion week in my book.
